I am a thought criminal. Which is a way of saying that I am waiting...waiting and fighting for something beyond this concrete world, and neon firefly flickering.

futile...
Yesterday, today and tommorrow, congress will be wasting it's time. What, pray tell, does a non-binding resolution accomplish? Those who are against this war a re against it, and those for, are for it. The adminastration, and the world is aware of this fact. It appears congress is not.
Why?
Why dedicate so much time to something so futile?
and speaking of futile, hey look, it's valentines day...

waiting
/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
There is an epic being written.
Our lives are being painted on a canvas, creating a masterpiece we could never imagine.
Paint has little appreciation for art.
We are waiting, for a day that we can see that perhaps,
perhaps,
there is more than this.
That there is a rhythm in this cacophony,
and it’s melody is a choir of angels.
That maybe.
We mean something after all.
One day.
We will live.
I promise.

Curiosity and the sanity of charles williams.
I have been told, by reliable sources, that cats are curious. However, I am afflicted with a 100+ pound rottweiler who is probabally the most curious creature on the planet(just a small sidenote, 100 pounds, curiosity, not a good combo!) Earlier I was writing a precis(if you don't know what that is, thank God) on Charles Wiliams' Descent into Hell. Aslan(My Dog, the curious one) proved his curiosity my coming to examine the keyboard and typing on it. The product of his short literary career( something like "s4JH2yfhjfu), honestly made as much sense, probabally more than, Descent into Hell.
In this book, Williams dispells any idea as to the existence of his sanity and also manages to pose a serious threat to mine.
The inklings were famous for having contests on seeing who could read a bad poem the longest without laughing. I can only assume that when Mr. Williams was not present, his work was subject to this harsh criticism.

Humanity and hope and lack thereof
When someone says something is only human, you can safely assume that they mean to excuse it.
It is only human to want what I do not have. This is true. And, in and of itself, this is not a bad thing. To want something better for yourself is, besides human, innocent. The desire for pleasure, I may say.
Yet it is also only human to take what you want from others. Yet we know that this is wrong.
If you say that you never learned that this was wrong, that good and evil are all the product of society dominated by white males blah,blah,blah...I suggest you read book 1 of Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis. Good old Jack can explain it better than I can. Suffice it to say that if we cannot assume that MOST, not all, human beings know basic good and evil, then everything is legal. We cannot say that Nazi's or Terrorist's should be stopped(for now lets leave the death penalty out of it and assume "stopped" means "Tied up in a non-humiliating and humane manner with bio-degradable felt ropes that don't chafe their wrists and taken to remain for the rest of their lives in a maximum security prison with cable television and twenty-four hour room service."Anything, so long as they can't kill more people)if they had no idea genocide was wrong, any more than we could stop them for the color of their hair.
When Lewis talks of The Law of Nature, of good and evil, then, he does not speak of the Law of HUMAN Nature, but the Law by which nature is ruled and will be judged.
Humanity is the fatal flaw of socialism and communism.
It seeks to place man(kind), and man alone, as the savior of humanity.
A self sustaining race, providing all the savior they need.
This is why Christ is so hated by them. They are gods. They wish to be worshipped, and they alone.
Or, perhaps, this is why they are communists.
It is the only government system that seems to defy God. A rebellion, not even a denial of his existance, but a defiance of his authority.
Political systems are not our enemy.Evil is our enemy. This is why our politics must be a system of checks and balances to prevent anyone from having absolute power, yet the last straw is this: When evil arises, good MUST arise to confront it! Wether that good is a just government, or a revolt against an evil one, the side of light must win at all costs while remaining good.
This brings us to capitalism.
I am a capitalist.
Once you have finished hissing and booing, read on.
Capitalism can serve as evil a purpose as communism.Sweat shops and child labor are proof of that. Yet, there perhaps even more, is the battle for justice. The revolution we fight in America now, is a personal one.
We need not guerilla fighters nor assualt weapons, but honest buisnessmen, willing to pay fair wages and charge fair prices.
If several large companies decided to stop making millions of dollars they can't spend in executive salaries, and instead pay every Joe Schmoe in the factory more, they would better the economy as a whole, and by driving down prices, other competitors will be forced to follow suit. then, we would have higher paid lower and middle classes, and also reduce the barriers between these classes. And then again, they would have more money to spend, and yet not have to spend as much, for prices would Be lower! That is our hope.
This why I believe in capitalism. It allows good to fight evil.
For you see, the immigrant selling oranges on the street corner or working in the fields is a capitalist.
This isn't to say that it would not be better for him to have better working conditions, because of course he(or she, for that matter) should. Yet these are capitalists.
Immigrants see the beauty of an America where honest people are free to work by blood, sweat, and tears to forge a foothold for a better life. Communism would not simply harm giant, cold, corporations, but also take the lifeblood from every soul who owns a farm, or a fruit stand, or a market, or a cart of dry ice filled with popsicles.
for the economic revolution, the ball is in the upper classes court.
Yet the economis revolution is only a small part of a revolt that will shake the foundations of the earth and turn humanity upside down.
Now you may wonder if this is not just some sort of Christian Jiihad, another theocracy where instead, Christian morality rules. Well, of greatest importance is a relationship with Christ. For if all of us are true Christians, than all will fall in to place. Yet we are not, and we cannot make religion and doctrine law.
Religion and doctrine will touch on law, and holy institutions recognized by the government, such as marriage,
must remain as intended. Yet tolerance must be found in this revolt. If we are to say then, that our religion is right for us and someone elses is right for them, then what you realy say is that neither matters.
The leftist Christian idea of tolerance is not, "I believe in your right to believe in Islam and Judaism, even though you are wrong, because you are free to believe what you will, and will die for that right. That said, Let me, not as a government, but as a fellow American and human, tell you about Jesus "as mine is, but "I believe in your right to believe in Islam, Judaism, or that the sky is green, and no matter how wrong you are, I won't tell you. Oh, and I don't die for anything, or stand up for anything, not even my own belief, or a child's right to live.
I mean, whatever works for you is great, but let's not get fanatical about. Let's find a safe compromise..."
So, what I mean to say is this.
Compassionate Conservatism is the new revolution.

V

Five years.
Without a doubt you know what I’m talking about.
Because you also have been counting the days.
Remembering where you where, and how the world has changed.
We didn’t know war. We still don’t.
But now we have woken from a nightmare, and found that it is reality.
That no matter how many tears we cry, we can never bring back our murdered familiy.
Five years ago, our enemies rejoiced because they spilled gallons of inoccent blood.
These are the enemies we fight.
There is a reason the attacks of 9:11 where beyond imagination.
Because war was not waged against people, against innocents. War was waged to
protect inoccents.
This is why we fight!
We are engaged in the greatest struggle freedom, morality, and truth have ever fought.
This war is unpopular.
This war is hard.
And it is, above all, a war. An armed struggle.
We cannot expect it to be bloodless.
Are we afraid of war because we have tried so hard, for so long o escape it?
We have found now that there is nothing to do with suffering except to suffer it.
There is nothing left to do except to throw ourselves headfirst into the fray and hope that
when the smoke clears, truth and justice will have prevailed.
And to know, that even if they do not, that we went down swinging.
Yet this is no war for vengance.
That kind of a war will leave us hollow, finding that no amount of blood can bring our dead
back.
This is a war to prevent this from ever happening again. Because all these people want,
is death, and our rivers running red with our blood.
There are many who oppose war because they fear it. To them I say, don’t worry.
You won’t fight this war.
Others will, and because of their sacrifices, you are safer.
Yet even justice will never ease the pain we felt five years ago, and continue to feel as
powerfully today.
Today we mourn.
Today we weep.
Today we cry out to heaven.
Today we remember.
Five years ago they tried to break us.
WE ARE STILL ALIVE!
and we will never rest. No matter how long it takes, if the sun should darken and the stars
fall to the earth, and nothing remain of our nation but a tattered flag, we will fight and bleed
and weep and cry to kill those responsible, and the enemies of freedom and truth and
justice.
Good and evil confront each other.
We will not lose.
This is not a cry for revenge, or violence.
But for justice, no matter what the cost.
For now, know that

WE WILL NEVER FORGET
